Impact
Since 2014, this sale raised $14,000 to feed the faith of youth, families, and young adults through Camp Koinonia (ELCA outdoor camp), Bible Translation and Missionary Work in Africa, and ELCA Youth in Global Mission. During that same time, we also raised $4,600 for Family Promise of Bergen County. $27,500 has also been sent around the world through ELCA World Hunger, Lutheran Disaster Response, Church World Service, a Lutheran mission among the Navajo people, and Lutheran World Relief. And during this time, this sale generated $9,500 to feed people in Northern New Jersey through the Center for Food Action, Tri-Boro Food Pantry, and Meals on Wheels of Northern NJ.

Who are the "Christ Lutheran Church Women"?
Christ Lutheran Church Women (sometimes referred to as CLCW) is the Committee that represents all confirmed women of our church. This group is designed to encourage the women of the congregation to grow in faith, support one another, engage in ministry and action and to promote healing and wholeness in the church and the world.
We organize and run the annual Trash & Treasure sale - usually the first or second Saturday in May. Everyone is welcome to work on the sale . . . works begins about three weeks before . . . and includes plenty of fun and food to keep you happy. You can decide where you want to work and when. We also donate our unsold items to a variety of charities. These include: The Breast Cancer Center, ,.. We also provided monetary donations to ELCA Hunger & Disaster Appeals, Family Promise,, Lutheran World Relief, The Center for Food Action, and Young Adults in Global Mission, support mission work. Suggestions as to where to donate money are welcome from members of the church. Some of the money is spent at church, to help with key capital projects and programs.
In the fall, there is usually a retreat to Koinonia (a Lutheran Camp in NY State), where the attendees have a chance to enjoy the nature that is Koinonia, relax and read, and just have fun. We also hold yearly events such as when Spiritual Artist/Potter, Ray Boswell, came with an inspirational message of hope while we made pottery.
Helping Hands kits and School kits are packed up and sent to Church World Services, along with a monetary donation to purchase goats and chickens and to fund schooling for some girls and inoculations for many children.
We meet monthly and have our annual meeting on a Sunday in January. At this meeting, we review the previous year, and enjoy a delicious buffet lunch of soup and desserts. Consider joining us!
