What We Believe

Holy Communion
Welcome to the Lord's Table!

Holy Communion is one of the key ways we come to experience God's unconditional love. We believe that the Spirit of the risen Jesus Christ is powerfully and mysteriously present through, with and under the bread and wine/grape juice. Through this meal God has chosen to give life sustaining food to all who are spiritually hungry. The original language for "given and shed for you" is best translated "given and shed for you all." It is a personal encounter with God within the context of all God's people.

Holy Communion at CLC is open to all visitors who are baptized Christians, and who believe that Christ is bodily present in the bread and wine are invited to recieve this Sacrament. For those who prefer grape juice, those glasses are in the center of the communion tray.  Children who commune should hold out their hands to the server.
